Brussels Sprouts

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. brussels sprouts

  • 2 Tbsp olive oil

  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic (more or less to taste)

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp salt

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400º F.

  2. Cut stems off of brussels sprouts, then slice into halves (or fourths for especially large sprouts). 

  3. In a medium bowl, toss together brussels sprout halves, oil, garlic, pepper, and salt.

  4. Spray a baking pan with nonstick cooking oil. 

  5. Spread coated brussels sprouts evenly among the pan, allowing plenty of space between them to prevent steaming. 

  6. Bake for 20 minutes or until browned. Shake pan occasionally to ensure even browning.

*The secret to crispy brussels sprouts? Spread them out! They create steam when placed close together, which results in a soggy texture.
